Nextcloud
What is Nextcloud?
Nextcloud is open source software for file storage, sync and collaboration, comparable to Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive. It runs on your own servers or with a provider of your choice, so you decide where the data lives.
Staff use it in the browser, with a desktop sync client or a phone app. Files can be shared with password and expiry, and versions and the trash bin restore deleted states.
For businesses with sensitive data the location matters. Nextcloud in Austria, the EU or on-prem avoids transfers to US providers.
Nextcloud is only as secure as its operation: updates, a hardened server, MFA and an offsite backup.
