Working securely from home
How do employees work securely from home?
When people work from home, the work leaves the company network. Three things need securing: the device, the route into the company network and access to the accounts.
For the device the same applies as in the office. It is encrypted, it receives updates, it carries protection against malicious software, and it is a company device or at least a clearly separated area on a private one.
The route into the company network runs through an encrypted connection, a VPN, or through services built from the outset for access from outside. In both cases the access belongs behind a second factor, because a password alone is too little here.
The third point is the person. At home the quick question to the colleague next door is missing. Set a simple, well known way to report a suspicion, and make sure a report is welcome even when it turns out to be harmless.
